Carlson announced on May 9 that he was planning to move his show to Twitter.
“There aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech,” Carlson said. “The last big one remaining in the world, the only one, is Twitter where we are now. Twitter has long served as the place where our national conversation incubates and develops.
“Starting soon, we will be bringing a new version of the show we have been doing for the last six and a half years to Twitter,” he said. “We’ll be bringing some other things, too, which we will tell you about. But for now, we are just grateful to be here. Free speech is the main right that you have. Without it, you have no others.
“See you soon.”
That comes just more than two weeks after FOX News announced it was ending Carlson’s show on its network.
It has been just more than two weeks since Tucker Carlson announced that he was moving his show to Twitter, and really the world hasn’t heard much from him since.
Still waiting on the first episode.
But, while Carlson’s fans do that, there have also been rumors floated about that he might make a run a presidential run in 2024.
It appears that is all that is. Just rumor. Because, according to reports, Carlson’s lawyer has warned a political action committee that was claiming it was raising money to get Carlson into the race that it should stop.
The letter also reportedly accused the group of “damaging” Carlson and “defrauding” his followers.
“If you do not immediately cease and desist your efforts to solicit money to ‘draft’ Mar. Carlson, we will use every legal means at our disposal to vindicate his rights and protect his supporters from these misrepresentations,” the letter read.
Dhillon also tweeted about the “SCAM PAC.”
“Everyone who donates to this frivolous and transparently self-serving attempt by total strangers to collect money and donor data using Tuckers’ name and likeness, is getting ripped off and will probably get their name on a list for endless political donation pitches on behalf of some other candidate.”
Dhillon said that it was “dishonest to raise money using someone else’s name without their consent, period.”
