Xabier Azkargorta — the man who led Bolivia to the 1994 World Cup, marking one of the most historic achievements in the country’s football history — has passed away at 72 years old.
Throughout his long and respected career, Azkargorta coached in Spain, Bolivia, Chile, Japan and Mexico, and also served as national team manager for Bolivia and Chile.
He even worked as Director of Real Madrid’s International Sports Schools from 2003 to 2005.
